The key may have had a looped head (now missing), the shaft is plain while the key bit may have had two teeth, but it is too corroded to identify any attributes further. This key probably dates to the Post-medieval period, and may be as late as the 19th century. Read that date range again — it spans several hundred years, and the reason is not ignorance but corrosion. Everything that would have narrowed it, the head shape and the cutting of the bit, has rusted away.
